Campaigning For Don Valley In Parliament
Coal: As a member of the All Party Coalfield Communities Group of MPs, lobbied Ministers to get a fair deal for coal, and welcomed miners from Rossington Colliery to the House of Commons during that campaign. The result has been decisive Government action to give coal industry a level playing field and a viable future.

Thorne & Hatfield Moors: lobbied Environment Minister, Michael Meacher and English Nature as part of the campaign to save the status of Thorne & Hatfield Moors as Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
Unadopted Roads: pressed Ministers over the blight facing residents in private roads.

Transport: made representations to Ministers for:
The new transport Interchange for Doncaster
The North Bridge Relief Road
More buses for our villages. The Government's rural bus grant has meant that after 12 months of campaigning Old Cantley has a direct 190 bus service to the Doncaster Royal Infirmary and town centre and Tickhill is linked by bus to Bawtry.

Animal Welfare: supported the Wild Mammals (Hunting with Dogs) Bill. Presented a petition to Parliament on behalf of 2,000 local residents, led by the RSPCA SY Branch, of which I am a patron.
