Caroline
Flint's comment
on employing her spouse
31 January 2008
Caroline Flint
said:
"My husband, Phil Cole, has worked
for me since May 1997. Giving up his London-based job
in public relations to manage my constituency office
enabled us to live in the constituency with our three
school age children.
"Anybody who knows Phil knows
he does a proper full time job for me.
"From the outset it was
a family decision to work together and it has certainly
helped to manage the demands of a role public life."
Caroline and Phil's children
were 9, 10 and 12 when she became an MP and completed
their education at Ridgewood and Hall Cross Schools.
