Rowena's secret of success

23 January 2006

Caroline Flint MP joined Chair of Governors, Cllr Chris Mills, Cllr John Mills and Deputy Head Michelle Benton to see for herself Rowena Nursery & Infant School's recipe for success this week.

Said Ms Flint: "Rowena is a fine example of a school that has been making good progress year after year. In every classroom I found staff really enjoying their work and pupils eager to listen and learn. The staff and governors have really got the recipe for success."

Said Cllr Chris Mills: "Being Chair of Governors at such a marvellous school is a source of great pride to me. Year after year, Rowena is raising standards and I couldn't ask more from the staff and governors."

Said Cllr John Mills: "This school is making the best use of every penny of new investment the Government and Council have put their way, from the £250,000 reception unit opened in 2004 to the whiteboards in every classroom."

Rowena Nursery & Infant School now boasts 11 teaching assistants, the use of 46 computers and interactive whiteboards in every classroom.
