Caroline
Flint backs 'Get Online Day'
Friday 12 October 2007
Rossington Welfare Learning Centre
West End Lane, Rossington
12 July 2007
on Valley MP Caroline Flint showed
her support for Get On Line open day at Rossington Welfare
Learning Centre this week.
Said Ms Flint: "Over 1 million
children do not have access to the internet. Get Online
Day was showing families the many sites
and services they can access online that can save them
time, money or hassle.
"Whether you want information
about family tax credits or health information on direct.gov.uk,
or you want to email far flung relatives and send them
pictures, the internet can help everyday family life,"
said Caroline. "With internet access in libraries
and community online centres, you can learn about the
internet even if you
don't own a computer."
Janice Dowson, the Learning Centre's
ICT Co-ordinator said:
"It was great to have Caroline's support for Get
Online Day, but anyone who was not able to visit today
and wants to find out
more about the internet and what it offers their family,
feel free
to ring me on 865936."
Get Online Day events are also took
place at Bawtry Library and Cantley Community Centre.
