Don Valley MP Caroline Flint visited the Wilsic Road Day Nursery to formally open the nursery's new baby unit.

The new six place baby unit staffed by two dedicated staff, one being a new post to run to the unit. The nursery already takes 24 children aged 2-5. A cook will prepare freshly cooked meals for babies once they are weaned, using a menu agreed with the health visitor.

Said Ms Flint: "Many families have come to depend on Wilsic Road Day Nursery since it first opened. Quality childcare is essential to many modern families and Wilsic Road Day Nursery sets a high standard.

"The fact that the baby unit has gone from an idea to opening in just three months, is testament to Sue Draper's excellent organisation. This nursery has a reassuring, caring and friendly atmosphere which must go some way to explaining its popularity with working parents."

Said owner Sue Draper: "The baby unit is a direct response to demand from parents, providing a service to meet the needs of growing local families. It's great to be able to offer this service."
