3.00pm Hayfield Lane Primary School
Hayfield Lane Auckley
Don Valley MP Caroline Flint will
present a surprise to Charlotte Smith, age 9, a pupil
at Hayfield Lane Primary School, Doncaster.
Charlotte visited Downing Street a
few weeks ago with her school, and sent a drawing and
letter to Tony Blair.
Today, Charlotte will receive the
reply at a school assembly, where she will read the
letter to the school.
Said Caroline Flint: "Shortly
after Hayfield Lane Primary visited Parliament and Ten
Downing Street, Charlotte wrote a letter to the Prime
Minister. To receive this reply from Tony Blair is very
special."
Said Ms Flint "This is the fourth
time I can recall Tony Blair writing to pupils in Don
Valley. I have never known a Prime Minister be so responsive
and open to young people."
In 2002, Tony Blair wrote to
Year 3 pupils at Tickhill Estfeld who sent him projects
on the environment. In 2005, he wrote to Luke Gear from
Denaby Main Primary who asked Caroline Flint a question
for the PM about Iraq. In 2006, he thanked pupils from
Branton St Wilfred's who sent him a gift of a key they
had sold to raise money for the Tsunami.
