Caroline Flint welcomes school Ofsted report

7 November 2006

Don Valley MP Caroline Flint and Cllr John Mills have congratulated Conisbrough Ivanhoe Junior and Infant School on their recent Ofsted report.

The MP and ward councillor were guests at a school assembly before meeting pupils and parents.

Said Ms Flint: "The most we can ask of a school is that they make good use of the resources provided to give children a good experience of school and a love of learning. The praise Ivanhoe School has received from Ofsted reflects the steady progress the school has made under the new Head, Joe Brian. The staff and governors should be proud of the progress the school is making."

Said Cllr John Mills: "I have been associated with the school as a councillor and governor and this first rate Ofsted report is a real pat on the back for the efforts of everyone involved in the school.

"When a parent tells the inspector 'I only want the best education
for my child and she is receiving it at Conisbrough Ivanhoe' that says it all."

Ms Flint welcomed the investment in the school in recent years. "Today, Ivanhoe has 7 classroom assistants to help teachers; interactive whiteboards in every classroom and a suite of 18 computers. I know that for the 203 pupils, this is money well spent investing in their future."
