MP praises award-winning pre-school
playgroup
Northgate playgroup passes OFSTED inspection
12 November 2004
Don Valley MP Caroline Flint has praised
Northgate Playgroup, which runs a successful pre-school
and toddler group, for the quality of their work.
Said Ms Flint "Northgate Playgroup
is first rate pre-school and toddler provision. It fully
deserves the award it received recently from the Doncaster
Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership, and
it has passed its latest OFSTED inspection with flying
colours.
"Deb Smith and her staff have
added to the choices available to Tickhill parents,
with a quality pre-school group on their doorsteps."
The playgroup, which has existed since
1968, nearly closed in 1998 when more nurseries and
childcare provision was created by the Government, but
with help from Government funding have gone from strength
to strength.
Said Deb Smith: "Government funding
enabled us to expand the number of sessions we run.
It has transformed Northgate Playgroup into the important
educational provision parents expect and our successful
OFSTED is further evidence of the quality childcare
we offer to children and parents."
Parents who wish to find out
more about Northgate Playgroup, should ring Deb Smith
on 01302 743716.
