MP keeps in trim with Auckley Primary School

21 November 2005

Caroline Flint MP promised to keep in trim with pupils and parents of Auckley Primary School, School Lane Auckley when the Don Valley MP opened the new Trim Trail in the school grounds.

Said Ms Flint: "The Friends of Auckley Primary School have done a marvellous job, fundraising to see the Trim Trail project from an idea to a reality.

"Good schools are a partnership between staff, governors and parents; and the parents have really invested time and energy to improve the facilities for the children.

"I am sure it will encourage children to do some healthy exercise every day."

Ms Flint also had a tour of the school to view recent improvements to the nursery, with the addition of new toilets, kitchen and disabled access to allow the school to incorporate breakfast and after school clubs between 8am and 6pm. The After School club has begun, and the breakfast club will begin shortly.

Said Ms Flint: "A village like Auckley needs a school that is open 8am to 6pm. I am delighted to see the improvements that will help to make that possible."
