Flint backs blooming school
15 September 2006
Don Valley MP, Caroline Flint, visited
Warmsworth Primary School to see for herself the £100,000
improvements made to the school, and found a school
in bloom.
"Meeting staff and pupils at
Warmsworth Primary was a real treat," said Caroline.
"Whether it was the school garden, where the children
grow their own fruit and vegetables, the trim trail,
the Healthy School curriculum or the high quality of
teaching - this school is blossoming".
"Acting Headteacher Ann Marshall,
staff and governors are providing a marvellous environment
for the children to learn and enjoy school. They have
every reason to be pleased with themselves."
Said Ann Marshall: "We were proud
to show the Public Health Minister our work on Healthy
Schools, our trim trail and to the organic fruit and
vegetables the children grow themselves."
The school's Ofsted report described
Warmsworth Primary as "a very good school with
several outstanding aspects."
Said Ms Flint: "Investing
in education has been the Government's great priority.
I would be proud to bring any Minister to see how Warmsworth
has used their staff, IT, and school building to create
a first rate school."
